Web Hosting Disappointment

hamburg_Night

Well, I’ve been watching my web traffic and the way my hosting provider supports me and come to the conclusion I can do better. For over $13 per month and with a site with not a lot of traffic, it tells me I’m exceeding thresholds and being ‘capped’. I also notice it is slow to respond. Quite often significantly slow.

The conclusion I reach is that they are over selling their hosting, meaning that the resources are insufficient to the number of clients they have.

Well, GoDaddy is the provider and I am disappointed. I’m also a bit disappointed at how pervasive they are in pushing things onto me then asking for upgrade fees. Seriously, this gets tiring.

Looking For A Better Host

Google is everyone’s frind and it told me “Blue Host” is the best Web host around. Well. That is simple then.

I looked at their offering and came to the conclusion that they reveal little (same as GoDaddy) and they mention a website builder.

Great. Which one. Simple question that. (hint. I was wrong, it is not a simple answer I presume)

I went looking, could not find anything about their site builder, so I (foolishly) started a chat session with a staff member.

After asking the same question about 6 times and not getting an answer I tersely told the person we could not communicate and logged off. Then sent a rating of “1” for their ability to answer a question. If there had been a “0” option I would have used that instead. It would have been closer to the truth.

WHAT A CRETIN! When I ask a question I sort of hope it will be answered by a professional support person. Saying I don’t know is fine too, not a problem, we can work from there. Just avoiding and ignoring my question is pointless and I will crack the bounds of polite conversation and be pushy or rude or hangup or all of the previous.

Then when I ask it YET AGAIN and use “????” at the end of the question, maybe this should be a hint!

So, if BlueHost reads this, do send me an email. We can maybe communicate!

Berlin At night Photo

I have no idea why I like this photo, but I do. Hence I used it. I hope you like it.

Maybe I could waffle about spies meeting on a bridge at night and keeping secrets, secrets like what is the Blue Host web site builder offering that is a mystary to staff also. But that would be a cheap shot.

Maybe I could say that posts with a photo attached are more attractive so I just looked around for something to add and wasn’t all that worried about relevance. I shouldn’t have said that.
